3 more scenes done and I think I've hit a blocker. That is, the next few scenes don't make enough SENSE to me and I think to revise them so they do, I'm going to have to do some worldbuilding and mythology writing. Not unpleasant work but it might rearrange my schedule some. I'm trying to not beat myself up too much about this.

And three more scenes done, despite the writing blahs.
The writing blahs are actually a kind of fear. I feel like I'm trying something enormous and I won't possibly be able to live up to my expectations-- that it just won't work. Somehow. It being the story, the design words.... everything.

3 scenes. I seem to be doing a lot of setting exposition in this second book. I wonder if that's a bad thing?

2 more scenes scripted, and I skipped/incorporated a rambling paragraph outlining additional needed material. No work done yesterday. I'll definitely be working harder as the end of the month gets closer

.8 + 2 scenes. As slow as it is, it's cool to see daily progress being made, especially in the arena of understanding the story I'm telling.

Only 1.2 scenes, though. My little 14 day timespan might end up extended by a couple of days. We'll have to see. I shall try not to beat myself up over it.

The Ghost Draft is 2890 words long. It's also about 34 scenes/chapters, plus a few more for threads that develop in, er, development. I'm thinking 14 days to write the Script Draft. That looks like about 3 scenes a day. Woo-eee.
I was originally imagining this Script Draft having, well, dialogue scripts in it. However, I'm not sure if I've got things developed enough for that. Guess I'll start and find out.

And basically done with ghost draft. I'm still nervous about whether the plot is any GOOD, though. It's all 'this seems so organic and natural that everybody will be able to predict it and thus it will be dull'.

It's small because it's designer words. They count for more. Um, at least, I hope so.

I have too many characters in one group. I really can't split them.. I hate the thought of not touching base with various present characters for a few chapters. This sucks. I may have to send them out to gather wood or something.

Finally, into the woods. But I'm reaching a point where I'm uncertain if this will be any good. It sort of feels like some episodes of anime, and I'm afraid some thing will seem contrived. Because, well, they are. I'm going to have to remember to keep scene participation low, even if a fairly large number of characters are travelling together. That's been hard throughout this entire scenario. The temptation is always there to make sure every character present has a chance to voice their opinion but unfortunately that just doesn't make for good storytelling.

This is the process I'm following this time around:
I'm on step 5 (ghost draft). Today I got through the initial phase of the story. Tomorrow, the first major plot section. I've given myself until next Tuesday to finish the ghost draft but it'd be cool to finish it earlier. I suppose I should re-evaluate my final deadline.
- One sentence
- One sentence for each character
- One paragraph for each character
- Chronology, wherein I weave together each character's paragraphs along with supporting events, into a list of one-line events
- Ghost draft, wherein I expand each one-line event into a paragraph
- Script draft, wherein I expand each paragraph into a skeleton of a scene, complete with important dialog
- Story analysis and revision, wherein I add to the skeleton to make everything make sense
- Rough draft, wherein I put nice words on the skeleton but hopefully don't have to spend any time figuring out the how of anything
- First draft, wherein I make it as pretty as possible before making it available to Kevin
